About
Chateau Marsyas, established in 2005, planted 60km from Beirut on the alluvial plains of the Bekaa Valley at the piedmont of Mount Barouk, with an altitude that reaches 990 m.
Owned by the Saadé family, brothers Sandro and Karim work together with the help of renown Bordeaux consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, bringing wines that combine a sense of tradition and a fresh new wave era for the region.
The Bekaa lies on an alluvial plain cradled between two mountains with a clay top soil (evidence of iron) over a bedrock of limestone.
The valley is planted with approximately 80% red grapes and 20% white grapes. Winters are damp and cold, with temperatures often below zero; while summers can be extremely hot and dry. - Importer Note
