About
Heartwines is a project that utilises enthusiastic non-interventionist winemakers, using locally grown fruit to make small and unique batches of hand-made wines. Tessa Brown is the Pinot Gris + 3 and La Biche Fiano queen, Peter Fraser slaves over the old organically grown bush-vines to make Danger Shiraz, Archie Grenache and Ruby Rosé and Mark Kelly makes a flavoursome, yet restrained and mineral Beechworth Chardonnay grown on granite. - Distributor Note
Tasting Notes
Made with Grenache from 70 year old bush vines in Blewitt Springs. Old puncheons and whole berries.
Raspberry, cool mint and floral perfume, spiced pecans, new leather. Light and fresh, a subtle earthy and gamey flavour in with red fruits and spice, fine powdery tannin, a distinct ‘warm climate Burgundy’ feel, sage and red fruits on a gentle but insistently dry tannic finish. Complex and good, but drink young. 92 points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
