About
In the world of Bordeaux wine, few names are as well established as Louis Mitjavile. His reputation precedes him, and rightfully so. Le Versant, the second wine of Domaine de l'Aurage, is a testament to his winemaking prowess.
The Mitjavile family, led by Caroline and Louis, established their domaine in the charming town of Saint-Genès-de-Castillon in Castillon-Côtes-de-Bordeaux in 2007. Louis's father's domaines served as his inspiration and launching pad. François Mitjavile, owner of Tertre Roteboeuf and Roc de Cambes, instilled in Louis a deep love and respect for winemaking, a passion that he has carried with him into his own vineyards.
In Le Versant, Louis's skill and dedication to his craft are on full display. The wine is a testament to the terroir of Castillon-Côtesde-Bordeaux and the Mitjavile family's commitment to producing the highest quality wines. With each bottle, we are transported to the rolling hills of Saint-Genès-de-Castillon, where the vines soak up the sun and the rich soil imparts its unique flavour.
Tasting Notes
Le Versant 2019 impresses with its explosion of fruit as well as its concentration. In an assertive Bordeaux style, the Mitjavile cuvée nevertheless remains very accessible in the mouth. For a 2019 vintage, the wine already presents a very good drinkability, while retaining a good ageing potential. Certainly superb value for money. - Importer Note
