Origins
Founded in 1983, the Salvatore Molettieri Winery transformed a rich farming tradition into a distinguished wine production enterprise. Salvatore Molettieri, leveraging four generations of winemaking experience, decided to cease selling grapes to third parties and begin producing his own wines.
Rooted in the Montemarano area, a region renowned for its Aglianico, the Molettieri family has a deep understanding of their land. Their vineyards span over 13 hectares at altitudes between 500 and 600 metres, situated on the hills of Montemarano, one of the 17 municipalities within the Taurasi DOCG area. This region is ideally suited for viticulture, enabling the production of Irpinia DOC Aglianico, Irpinia DOC Campi Taurasini, Irpinia DOC Rosso, Taurasi and Taurasi Riserva DOCG, and the esteemed white wines Fiano DOCG and Greco di Tufo DOCG.
The “Cinque Querce” vineyard, located in the Iampenne district, celebrated 20 years of DOCG harvest in 2012 and features a selection of Aglianico vines, some of which date back to the pre-phylloxera period and remain ungrafted. This dedication to preserving and utilising historical vine stock contributes to the exceptional quality and character of their wines.
The 2019 Salvatore Molettieri Greco di Tufo is a highly regarded white wine from the Campania region of Italy, specifically from the Greco di Tufo DOCG area. Made from 100% Greco-Bianco grapes, it is grown in vineyards located in the province of Avellino. The soil in this area is primarily clay and tuffaceous, providing an ideal environment for the Greco grape variety. This wine reflects the rich heritage and unique terroir of the Irpinia region, offering a refined and authentic expression of Greco di Tufo.

Pleasant aromas of yellow peaches and hints of pineapple and mediterranean herbs. Medium-to full-bodied with lots of juicy peach-syrup flavor and tight minerals at the end. Drink now.

Freshly sliced green apples mix with peppery herbs and hints of dried apricots as the 2019 Greco di Tufo opens in the glass. This is soft-textured yet spry, with vibrant acidity and a note of candied lime motivating its ripe orchard fruits. Sweet inner florals and hints of raw honey come to the foreground, as this tapers off medium in length, yet reverberates with mouthwatering tension.
