About
Domaine Rougeot is located in the beautiful, historic village of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, France. It covers 12 hectares of vineyard on Burgundy’s best slopes.
The Rougeot family has produced wine for five generations on appellations including Meursault-Charmes, Meursault “Sous la Velle”, Meursault “Monatine”, Volnay-Santenots, Pommard “Clos des Roses”, Monthélie “Les Toisières”, Saint-Romain “La Combe Bazin”, and regional appellations Bourgogne Chardonnay and Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
Producer and owner Marc Rougeot, now alongside his sons Pierre-Henri and Alexandre, energetically continue the family tradition with a mixture of modern, organic and traditional processes that get the best out of every vintage.
The “Les Santenots” climat is located in the northern part of Meursault facing South-East, next to Volnay in the lower part of the village. This climat* is classified as a Volnay 1er Cru for red and as a Meursault 1er Cru for white. - Importer Note
Tasting Notes
The holding is at the centre of Charmes Dessous, but above the fault line (below which the potential quality is clearly less good). Clear mid yellow, a little touch of oak, well judged, this is all in balance with the suave sensuality of Pierre-Henri Rougeot’s style. Keep smelling this. One of the riper wines but still with a good thread of acidity.
