About

Domaine Rougeot is located in the beautiful, historic village of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, France. It covers 12 hectares of vineyard on Burgundy’s best slopes.

The Rougeot family has produced wine for five generations on appellations including Meursault-Charmes, Meursault “Sous la Velle”, Meursault “Monatine”, Volnay-Santenots, Pommard “Clos des Roses”, Monthélie “Les Toisières”, Saint-Romain “La Combe Bazin”, and regional appellations Bourgogne Chardonnay and Bourgogne Pinot Noir.

Producer and owner Marc Rougeot, now alongside his sons Pierre-Henri and Alexandre, energetically continue the family tradition with a mixture of modern, organic and traditional processes that get the best out of every vintage.

The vineyard of this Saint-Romain is located on a steep slope and planted with old vines, approximately 90 years old. Even though Saint-Romain doesn’t have any vineyards classified as 1er Cru yet, the motion is well under way and this vineyard is set to qualify. - Importer Note

Tasting Notes

90 to 100 year old vines. Lovely mid yellow, with a complex nose which includes reductive character, definitely so on the nose, not in the mouth. What a weight and concentration of fruit for a St-Romain! The fruit builds steadily, staying in balance, with wonderful persistence.

91-93 points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy January 2021
