About
Great value can still be found in Burgundy! Saumaize-Michelin is a 9.5 ha estate located in Vergisson. They switched to Biodynamics back in 2005 and place great importance in the maintenance of the vineyard’s bacterial life and the management of flora and micro flora diversity. The estate sits upon a diverse mosaic of soil and rocks which winemaker Roger Saumaize expresses through the different bottlings. - Importer Note
Tasting Notes
Here too the wood treatment is no longer subtle though neither is it invasive on the ripe and fresh aromas of pear and apple compote, lemon rind and wafting spice nuances. The citrus character is also present on the dense and sappy medium-bodied flavors that also exude a bracing salinity on the moderately austere finale that isn't quite as persistent but offers slightly better depth. This should age well if desired.
