About
Domaine Séguinot-Bordet dates from 1590 and is now managed by the young Jean-François Bordet who has recently taken over from his grandfather Roger Séguinot. Most of the 16 hectares of vineyards are located on the right bank of the Serein river benefiting from a perfect south / south-east exposition. Jean-François Bordet practises coolish fermentation and allows his wines to mature for 3-5 months on their lees; this maximises the contact and promotes a luscious style to the wines. His approach is clearly contemporary, but it delivers very stylish wines which fully express both the fruit and terroir. - Importer Note
Tasting Notes
Here too there is a subtle if perceptible dollop of oak surrounding the spicier aromas that are infused with plenty of that maritime character that makes Chablis so distinctive. The dense, succulent and borderline suave medium-bodied flavors still manage to retain the innate delicacy of a fine Vaudésir on the sappy yet very punchy and wonderfully long finale. While this will be approachable, and enjoyable, on the younger side, it should have no problem rewarding extended keeping.
