About
When it comes to winemaking, Peter Graham is the real deal. He spent 13 years learning his art and perfecting his technique at Beechworth's top winery. But he knew he was destined for something more - something that would truly set his soul on fire. And so, he founded Domenica, his very own vineyard and winery that's quickly becoming the talk of the town.
The vineyard might not be the biggest on the block, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in sheer beauty. It's perched at an altitude of 460 metres, giving it a view that'll make your heart skip a beat. The soil is granitic, and the exposure is as varied as it is exciting. There are steep southern slopes for the Chardonnay and a gentler northeast aspect for the Roussanne/Marsanne. It's a terroir that's as diverse as it is enchanting while producing some truly stellar wines.
At Domenica, they're all about quality over quantity. Every grape is treated with the utmost care and every bottle is crafted with precision and passion. This is a winery that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible. The results speak for themselves. If you're looking for a wine that'll knock your socks off and leave you begging for more, Domenica is where it's at.
Tasting Notes
A discreet style of Chardonnay here, with everything set to sotto voce. I minor amount of matchstick, ripe grapefruit and white peach, a little nutty, a light application of spicy ginger oak. Subtle chalky texture, a little spice and citrus, but again somewhat nutty and saline, with a zesty finish of good length. All very nice.
