About
Domenica is the project of Peter Graham, who previously worked for 13 years with the top winery in
Beechworth. The 4 hectares vineyard is located six kilometres south west of Beechworth, adjacent to the renowned Warner vineyard, at an altitude of around 460 metres. The soil is granitic, and the exposure is varied, from steep southerly slopes for the chardonnay, to a gentler north easterly aspect for the Roussanne/Marsanne. - Distributor Note
Tasting Notes
Savoury as all get out, with quite a bit of cap gun and smoky stuff (which settles down after being given a little air), but under that, all the cherry, liquorice root, tangerine and orange peel, plus a little gum leaf. It’s distinctly autumnal, old leaf litter, frisky blood orange juice acidity, a kind of truffle complexity, a little rasp of chalky tannin, and a finish of saline interest with redcurrant, rosehip and earthy spicy flavours. The zesty, almost Campari finish is quite something. It’s a little wild, but so interesting and good to drink. Big yes.
