Overview
Domaine de l'Anglore is a small, highly acclaimed winery in Tavel, within the Rhône Valley of France, famous for its natural winemaking practices. Founded by Eric Pfifferling, a beekeeper turned winemaker, Domaine de l'Anglore started in the early 2000s and quickly gained a cult following for its dedication to organic and biodynamic practices, as well as its minimalist, hands-off approach in the cellar.
Pfifferling’s philosophy centers around preserving the purity and vibrancy of the grapes, and he works mainly with Grenache, Clairette, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Syrah. These grapes are often fermented with native yeasts, undergo carbonic maceration, and receive little to no sulfur addition—a hallmark of natural winemaking. The result is wines that are fresh, lively, and expressive, with a characteristic brightness and a slight cloudiness due to the absence of heavy filtering or fining.
Although located in Tavel, a region traditionally known for rosé, Domaine de l'Anglore is celebrated for its light, aromatic reds and rosés that challenge conventional expectations of Rhône wines. The winery’s bottlings are often named after the parcels or unique terroirs from which the grapes are sourced, highlighting Pfifferling’s commitment to terroir-driven expressions.
Domaine de l'Anglore remains small in production but influential, inspiring a new wave of natural winemakers in the Rhône Valley and beyond.
